There is a cute little story about one member of the Frizzells and Becky and Pat [Murphy]. Becky and Pat had rented an apartment before they married and as they had the usual showers etc., they took their gifts to the new home. Becky told me again and again about the really nice older couple who lived across the hall, how they were watching over the apartment and just so very cordial. Well the kids got married, a big wedding here in Morning Sun, and left on their brief honeymoon. When they returned to settle in the apartment, Becky called me and said, "Mom, you know that couple across the hall? Well guess what... She is your relative!" It seems Bill Walker had been to see these folks and in conversation, mentioned he had been to Morning Sun to his niece's wedding on Saturday, whereupon the lady said, "That's odd, the kids across the hall got married in Morning Sun, Saturday." That's when they all got their facts together and discovered they were indeed cousins. She was Doris Cartwright, daughter of Aunt Vernie [Everna Walker Frizzell]. The Cartwrights always attended the Walker reunions held in Ottumwa each year.
