This photograph is the actual senior picture of Sam C. Walker, used in the newspaper write up about his thespian activities in the previous photograph of the Tour. Within several years after his graduation (by 1933), Sam would be working and living in Moline, Illinois. In 1935 he married Elizabeth "Betty" Hatt of Cedar Rapids in Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois. Sam and Betty lived for a time in Springville, Iowa but eventually moved into Marion/Cedar Rapids (Iowa) proper, where Sam worked for many years at the Quaker Oats Company. Sam and Betty had one child, Jerry Dean Walker. |
