Rebecca (Walker) Tryer |
Rebecca [Walker] Tryer lived from 1819 to 1854. She married John F. Tryer September 20, 1838, and they had six children. Rebecca was Francis Samuel Walker's sister, which means that Samuel Nathaniel Walker was her grandnephew. Rebecca Tryer was the youngest daughter of George Walker who came to America with his father and siblings in the mid to latter part of the 18th century. Beverly (De Long) Whitaker, who kindly provided use of this and several other photos, and who has her own web site, says she does not know which child is in Rebecca's lap in this photo (scanned from a tin type), but it is not Minerva Jane (Jennie) Tryer, who is Ms. Whitaker's ancestor. Rebecca and John Tryer had the following children:
Rebecca died several months before the passing of her son John, on September 17, 1854. It is certainly possible and almost likely the photograph on this page is of Rebecca and one of her two last children: her son John or else her daughter Eve. |
