Marguerite and Cliff Walker bought this cafe in the business district on Main Street (Highway 34) in New London, Iowa from John McClure, who wrote about it in a history of the town of New London between 1919 and 1965 in a letter to his grandchildren. In the 1960s this building was torn down when Forrest Burkhart built a large new department store. Doris Walker, who kindly photocopied this from her own collection, identifies the people thus:
