This house in Marion, Iowa, was where Bill, Margaret, and their children Gary and Steven Walker lived in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s; Bill had his sheet metal business in a building back behind the house (now removed). They had one of the only family cuckoo clocks I can remember in the 1950s, which was terribly fascinating to watch whenever we visited them. In their attic was a very nice old 1940s record player, too. The house is about two blocks from the Marion town square; it could use some paint today. |
