Maude Fortner often took Sandy Umphrey with her on vacation trips to Iowa in the early and mid 1950s. In this photograph they are visiting the home of Maude's father and step-mother, Sam and Reil Walker, in Morning Sun. Sandy is seen playing on the south side of the house in the back yard; Reil Walker is probably the woman whose outline can be seen inside the porch. |
