This photograph was taken in 1927 or very early in 1928. The Umphreys lived in New London at this time on Pine Street. Their father would die unexpectedly about three years later. Maude Mae [Walker] Umphrey, the daughter of Samuel Nathaniel Walker and Hattie Mae Moyers, was their mother. Later she would remarry Roy Fortner and eventually the entire family moved to the state of Michigan. |
