This photograph is the first in a series of school pictures of Terry Thomas in New London and later Colorado. By the time of this picture, at least seven of Samuel Nathaniel Walker's grandchildren had attended the New London, Iowa, school system and graduated from there. Terry was his great grandchild, continuing the tradition. Sam Walker, himself, was born and grew up near New London, though he spent almost all of his adult life in Louisa County, Iowa near the towns of Morning Sun and Newport. |
