This photograph most likely was taken in about 1918 judging from the similarities to the photograph earlier in the Tour taken on the date Hattie Mae Moyers died. Midway School, the one-room school house the Walker children attended, was near Newport. Sam was the first of the Walker children to continue on in the new, consolidated Wapello school district, where he graduated in 1929. |
