Arlene Hale

Arlene Hale, as the caption below her photograph statees, was a novelist. She was a resident of New London, and rural New London, Iowa, and during her lifetime had over 90 novels published. Pictures of some of the book covers are shown below.

Arlene was the daughter of Florence Vashti [Hand] and Ira Tate Hale. Her grandmother was Mary Catharine Brewer, who was the daughter of Vashti Walker and the niece of Charles Pearsey Walker.

Arlene was a 1941 graduate of New London High School; other classmates in that class were Doris Walker and Max Dotson (they were her third cousins).
