Maude and Roy Fortner returned to Iowa to live from Michigan in about 1963 or 1964 when Roy's sisters, (?) and Lillian [Fortner] Vance, died in short succession. After about a year cleaning out Lillian's large old house in Knoxville, which is in Marion County in South Central Iowa, they built a new, smaller house on a lot next to the house they inherited. This photograph was taken in that new house. |
