Giuseppe Antonio ("Joseph") Anderlini |
Giuseppe Antonio Anderlini, known as "Joseph" after he immigrated to the United States from Italy, was born October 8, 1866 in Formazza, Verbano-Cussio-Ossolo, Piemonte, Italy. His parents were Giovanni Giuseppe Anderlini and Anna Maria Bertta. After coming to the U.S., Joseph settled in California and in Triniy County he married, raised a family, and died. This picture was taken of Giovanni when he was 21 years old, thus in either 1887 or 1888. In 1892 in Lewiston, California, Joseph married Sarah Magdaline Dickey, the daughter of James Calvin Dickey and Eve Ellen ("Ella") Tryer. Ella was the daughter of Rebecca Walker (Francis S. Walker's sister) and John Francis Tryer. Sarah and Joseph Anderlini had eight children, one of whom was named George Leas Anderlini (1900-1980), after Sarah's first cousin, once removed, George Leas, the son of Jane Walker and Thomas Chapman Leas. This photograph was provided courtesy of Anderlini family descendant, David Anderson. |
