Mazie Walker-Belles

Mazie E. Walker-Belles, 69, of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of New London, died at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1995, at the Henry county Health Center in Mt. Pleasant following a long battle with cancer.

Born Nov. 18, 1925, in New London, she was the daughter of George P. and Verona Dotson Walker.

A 1943 graduate of New London high school, she had been a secretary for the CB&Q Railroad and for the state of Arizona for 13 years before retiring. She was also a homemaker and of Methodist faith.

Survivors include her mother, Verona Walker of New London, one daughter, Carol Williams of Peoria, Ariz.; three sons, Mark D. Belles of Glendale, Ariz., and Mitchell W. Belles and Steven P. Belles, both of Phoenix, Ariz; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Virden of Mt. Pleasant, and Jean Brunk of Kahoka, Mo.; and long time companion, Jean Leonard of Peoria, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The funeral for Mrs. Walker-Belles will be 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery at Morning Sun.
