Dorothy Clara Blint, 77, of West Point, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born February 2, 1920, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Lee and Laura Thornburg Pickle. On July 27, 1939, she married Glenn Blint in Kahoka, Missouri. He died August 5, 1969.
Mrs. Blint lived in Henry and Louisa counties. She was a homemaker, and a member of Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ and Jolly Twenty Circle of the church.
Survivors include eight sons, Richard Blint and Denny Blint, both of Denmark, Gary Blint and Roger Blint, both of rural West Point, Sam Blint and Gregory Blint, both of New London, and Dwight Blint of Franklin and Steven Blint of rural Denmark; four daughters, Judy Chapman of rural New London, Jennie Morris of Warsaw, Ill., Jane Sylvester of New London and Janette Wolfe of Denmark; two brothers, Joe Pickle of rural West Point and Jim Pickle of Mount Pleasant; seven sisters, Florence Martin and Hazel Blint, both of rural West Point, Jean Tibbs of Lowell, Gwenny Lear of Cedar Rapids, Karen Putman and Mary Gohr, both of Burlington, and Marjorie Foster of Galesburg, Ill.; 35 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at Barr Memorial Chapel in Fort Madison, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Blint will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Barr Memorial Chapel, with the Reverend Chuck Holmgren officiating. Burial will be in Williamson Cemetery in rural Denmark.
