Theodore Roosevelt (Ted) Dotson

Theodore Dotson

Theodore Roosevelt Dotson, 95, of Jackson, Mich., formerly of West Burlington, died at 7:34 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at W. A. Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mich.

Born Jan. 5, 1902, in Wapello, he was the son of Oscar and Edith Baxter Dotson. On Dec. 2, 1922, he married Zella Myrtle Walker. She died Sept. 18, 1990.

Mr. Dotson was a machinist at Burlington Northern Railroad shops in West Burlington for 45 years. He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Golliher of Jackson, Mich.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bert Dotson of Freeport, Ill., Kenneth Dotson of Spokane, Wash., and Mark Dotson of Portland, Ore.; and two sisters, Geneva Gilmore of Cedar Rapids and Verona Walker of New London.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, his parents and three brothers.

Friends may call after noon until 830 p.m. today and from 8 to noon Thursday at Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation.

The graveside funeral for Mr. Dotson will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. David Rogula officiating.

Theodore R. Dotson

The graveside funeral service for Mr. Theodore Roosevelt Dotson, who died Sunday, September 28, 1997, will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery today at 1:00 P.M. Reverend David Rogula will officiate. Friends may call from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. today in Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation. A memorial to a charity of choice has been established in lieu of flowers.
