Nellie E. Dotson

Mrs. Samuel Dotson passed away Saturday morning at her home in Newport after an illness of a few days with pneumonia. Deceased, who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Corneluis Brady, was born in Louisa county thirty-five years ago. Her parents died when she was a little girl and she lived with Mr. and Mrs. Dan McKay near Wapello, who gave her the care of a mother and father until her marriage to Mr. Allen. They were the parents of three children, two surviving, a daughter having burned to death a few years ago. Two sons, Roy and Samuel, are surviving children of this union. On February 3, 1907, Mrs. Allen was married to Samuel Dotson, a prominent farmer of Newport. To them were born four children, Mary, Viola, Joe and Katherine, who survive with their father.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family residence in Newport. Burial was made in Fairview cemetery.
