Wanda Lea Harrison has been married twice. She first married Charles Leaford Lavalleur ("Lee"), the son of Frank Napoleon Lavalleur and Luella Battles. Lee was born on November 15, 1914 in Burns, Laramie County, Wyoming, died of a heart attack, stroke, and pneumonia, on December 30, 1989 in Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming, at age 75, and was buried on January 2, 1990 in Cheyenne, which was where Wanda and he made their home. They had five children: Deborah Ann Lavalleur, who was born in Burlington and married Gary Lynn Crumbly in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Geraldine Lea Lavalleur, who was born in Washington, Washington County, Iowa, and married Larry Spence in Cheyenne; Nicolette Lavalleur, who also was born in Washington Iowa, she married Pete Anthony Veniegas; Robinette C. Lavalleur, who was born in Denver, Colorado, and married Edward James Clark in Connecticut; and Marcella Sue Lavalleur, who was born in Wyoming.
After Lee Lavelleur's death, Wanda married Charles Goodell in Laramie County, Wyoming.
Miriam Louise Harrison was born in Morning Sun. She presently suffers from complications of glioblastoma and Parkinson's disease and is living in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Miriam married Don Leroy Ferguson in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa. The marriage ended in divorce in 1963. Don was born on May 27, 1911 in Fremont, Mahaska County, Iowa, died at age 72 on September 12, 1983 in Fairfield, and was buried on September 15, 1983 in Packwood Cemetery, Packwood, Jefferson County, Iowa. The cause of his death was listed as cardiac arrest due to acute myocardial infarction.
Miriam and Don lived in Fairfield in their early life, and many of their children were born there. Later they moved to Mediapolis. They were divorced and he spent the remaining years of his life on a family farm with an unwed brother and sister.
Miriam and Don had nine children: Sheila Frances; Hope Darlene; Eileen Faith; Joy Lynn; Paulette Elaine Ferguson, who was born on October 12, 1953 in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa and died in Fairfield; Joseph E Ferguson (with no period after the initial E), who was born in Burlington; Karen Sue Ferguson, who was born on November 12, 1955 in Fairfield and died the following day, also in Fairfield. Karen was buried in Morning Sun; Ann Louise Ferguson, who was born in Fairfield; and Wayde Eugene Ferguson, who also was born in Fairfield.
Floyd Alfred Harrison Sr., known as "Bud," was born in Burlington, Iowa. He presently lives in Garland, Texas.
Bud married Linda Kay McCain, who used her middle name, "Kay." She was born on December 2, 1937 and died of cancer at age 48 in September 1986 in Dallas County, Texas. Kay and Bud had three children: Patricia Ann Harrison (Linda's child, adopted by Bud); Floyd Alfred, who was known as "Sonny," and who was born on March 31, 1960 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas and died at age 36 on February 23, 1997; and Frances Elizabeth, who was born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Karla A. Haines was born on March 13, 1965 in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa, died at age 36 on July 23, 2001 in Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Lee County, Iowa, and was buried on July 26, 2001 in Calvary Cemetery, West Point, Lee County, Iowa. Karla was married to Gerald F. Harvey in West Point. Before 1988 she worked at Hy Vee Food store; in 1986 she moved to West Point, and there she worked as a day care provider, and later at the local market, Sonny's Grocery Store. She was of the Catholic faith, and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Lockridge Rough Riders Saddle Club. Every year in her small town there is an event called the West Point Sweet Festival, in honor of the locally grown Iowa sweet corn, and Karla was chairwoman of that as well as the West Point Fall Festival.
