
Pearl and Jessie's son, David Earl Moyers was born on October 19, 1898 in Mediapolis and died in January 1981 in Davenport, at age 82. Earl moved to Davenport from Wapello sometime between 1947 and 1958.
Earl married Dorothy Mae Baird, the daughter of Thomas Anderson Baird and Cora May Congrove, on September 20 (or possibly September 10), 1919 in Newport. The marriage ended in divorce in July 1957 (the papers were filed in Burlington). Dorothy was born on January 8 or 9, 1899 in Newport, died after a four week stay in the hospital on June 28, 1970 in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. She was 71 when she died. Dorothy was buried in Elmwood Cemetery. She and Earl Moyers had three children: Dorothy Louise, Phyllis Marie, and Wendell Dean Moyers. From about 1950 until her death in 1970 Dorothy, who was of the Methodist faith, worked as a seamstress for J. S. Schramm Company in Burlington.
Dorothy Louise Moyers was born and died on the same day, September 16, 1923, in Morning Sun.
Phyllis Marie Moyers, lives in Wilmette, Cook County, Illinois, and is married to William Adrian White. They had four children: Sherilyn Marie White; Robert Earl White, who was born on January 27, 1950 in Chicago, and died at age 2 on March 1, 1952 in Wilmette; James Richard White; and William Adrian White.
Wendell Dean Moyers married Margaret Caroline Jones in Burlington. She was a native of Springfield, Illinois. They have four children: Michael Thomas Moyers, who was born in Ames, Story County, Iowa (the other children were born in Burlington); Mary Ann Moyers, Timothy Edward Moyers, who is married to a woman named Bonnie; and Jeffrey John Moyers.
Lottie Bernice Moyers was born on April 16, 1901 in Des Moines County died on March 10, 1988 in Mediapolis, at age 86, and was buried on March 12, 1988 in Kossuth Cemetery.
Lottie married Charles Earl Pilling Jr., known as "Jack," the son of Charles B. Pilling Sr. and Alice Sarah Seeds, on February 28, 1923 in Des Moines County. Jack was born on December 31, 1900 in Des Moines County, died in April 1982 in Mediapolis at age 81, and was buried in Kossuth Cemetery, near Mediapolis. They had two children, Vera Mae Pilling and Ray Wayne or "R. W."
Vera Mae Pilling was born in Des Moines County. She married John Wayne Weyer in Nashua, Chickasaw County, Iowa. John and she have three children: Judith Kay Weyer; Stephen Leon Weyer, who was born in Provo, Utah. Stephen is married to Carolyn Nancy Truitt, and their son is John Wayne Weyer II, who was named after his grandfather. John Weyer II was born in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. Vera and John Wayne's other son is John Charles Weyer, who married Marion Ruth Lawson in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky.
Ray Wayne Pilling was born on February 20, 1929 and died on June 7, 1989, at age 60. Ray was buried in Kossuth Cemetery.
Ray married Mary Alice Harsh and they had seven children: Allison Rae Pilling, who married Donald Ray Klein; Constance Joanne ("Connie") Pilling, Charles Russell Pilling; James Ernest Pilling; William Wayne Pilling; Paul Fredric Pilling; and Julie Janette Pilling; all of whom were born in Des Moines County.
Constance Joanne Pilling, who was born on May 6, 1953 in Burlington, died at age 41 on May 3, 1995 in Grundy Center, Grundy County, Iowa, and was buried in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Connie married Harold Whitsell in Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa. They had three children: Susan, Kristine, and one whose name is not known.
William Wayne Pilling was born on July 15, 1959. He died on May 7, 1974, at age 14, and was buried in Kossuth Cemetery.
Frances Willard Moyers was born on October 7, 1907 in Des Moines County, and died at her home after an extended battle with cancer at age 40 on July 13, 1948 in Burlington, and was buried on July 16, 1948 in the Elmwood Cemetery near Morning Sun. Frances, a member of the Oakland church north of Morning Sun, suffered from cancer of the brain and breast.
Frances was the second of three wives of Earl Joseph Harrison. His first wife was Janie Taylor, whom he married in 1919 in Selma, Alabama (they had one son). Earl was the son of Joseph Harrison and Isabelle May Anderson and was born on January 12, 1900 in Winfield, Henry County, Iowa. He died at age 65 from a heart attack on August 29, 1965 in Memorial Hospital, Mount Pleasant, and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery. He and Frances Moyers were married on February 2, 1925 in Morning Sun; after Frances died Earl again was married, his third marriage being to Mrs. Irene G. Gray. Earl was a Methodist and a World War I veteran, and the last ten years of his life he and Irene lived in New London, Iowa.
Earl and wife Frances Harrison had three children: Wanda Lea, Miriam Louise, and Floyd Alfred, known as "Bud."
Doyle Edward Moyers Sr., married Mary Jane Specketer, the daughter of Kenneth Specketer and Rosaline Mentrup, on February 16, 1952 in Saint John's Catholic Church, Burlington. Mary was born on November 7, 1929 in Burlington, died at age 66 on May 1, 1996 in Burlington Medical Center, West Burlington. She was buried on May 4, 1996 in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. Mary was a homemaker and a care giver and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary, Senior Citizens, Golden Oldies and St. John's Catholic Church.
Mary and Doyle Moyers had eight children: Bonnie K. Moyers, of Burlington; Doyle Edward Moyers Jr. of Bakersfield, Kern County, California; Susan D. Moyers of Burlington, who married a man named Zippe; Debra J. Moyers, of Burlington, who married a man named Daly; Kenneth C. Moyers, who married a woman named Maria; Joseph D. Moyers of Burlington; Samuel Dean Moyers of Burlington; and Linda M. Moyers, who married a man named Hodges; she lives in Fort Madison, Lee County, Iowa.
Mabel Moyers married Ernest Haines. Their home is in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa. Mabel and Ernest had six children: Leo E. Haines, a resident of Fairfield; Karla A. Haines, who was the wife of Gerald F. Harvey; William Haines, a resident of Fairfield; Ronald Haines of West Branch, Cedar County, Iowa; Elna Haines, of Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa; and Jane Haines, who married a man named Sutter and lives in Mount Pleasant.
