Lee married Marian Cecil Green. Marian was born on April 6, 1897 in Morning Sun, died at age 90 on August 6, 1987 in Wapello, and was buried in Wapello Cemetery. They had five children: Philip Howard, Mary Jane, John Calvin (known as "Jack,"); Lee Earl Jr., and Glen Richard Dotson, who married Jeannie Ross.
Harry Lawrence Dotson was born on December 27, 1893 in Wapello and died on October 21, 1959 in Wapello. He was 65 at the time of his death. Harry married Ines Marguerite Johnson. She was born on October 5, 1898 and died at age 82 on October 27, 1980 in Wapello. They had two children, Dorothy Marie and Harriet Maxine Dotson.
Dorothy Marie Dotson was born in Wapello. Dorothy married Donald Kenneth Baird, the son of Rodman William Baird and Helen Grace Delzell. She and he are both 1938 graduates of Mediapolis High School (Des Moines County). Donald was born in Morning Sun, Iowa. They have one daughter, Patricia Key Baird. She married John David Bryant, who was born in Morning Sun, and they had four children: Alan Wayne, David Baird, Michael John, and Tricia Marie. Alan Wayne Bryant was born in Burlington. He married Lori Maier, a native of Chicago Heights, Cook County, Illinois. Their daughters are Kathryn Marie and Emily Marie, both of whom were born in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois. David Baird Bryant was born September 27, 1960 in Burlington. He married Kelly Jean Krohn, a native of Akron, Plymouth County, Iowa. They have a daughter, Amanda Elise Bryant. Michael John Bryant is married to Maria and their daughter is Grace Olivia Bryant.
Harriet Maxine Dotson married Donald Cameron Kennedy. They have five children: Michael Cameron Kennedy, who was born in Burlington. He married Debbie Mellinger; Dennis D. Kennedy, who was born in Burlington. He married Melody Gerdam; Robert C. Kennedy, born in Burlington, who married Rhonda Jacobs; Dawn C. Kennedy, who was born in Burlington; and Lori J. Kennedy.
Samuel David Dotson (who used his middle name) was born December 29, 1894 in Louisa County, Iowa. He died at age 84 on January 18, 1979, and was buried in the Wapello Cemetery.
Dave married Evelyn Green. Evelyn was born on October 10, 1897 and died at age 81 on January 13, 1979. They had two children, Floyd George and Lloyd Grant Dotson.
Floyd George Dotson was born on January 20, 1925 and died on April 27, 1949, at age 24. He was married to Betty B. Bretz.
Lloyd Grant Dotson, Floyd's twin, was born on January 20, 1925 in Wapello, and died at age 71 on May 30, 1996 in Geneseo, Henry County, Illinois. He was buried on June 4, 1996 in the Wapello Cemetery. Lloyd was killed when a plane he was flying crashed east of Geneseo. Lloyd had led an interesting life. He served in the US Army during World War II, and was captured in Europe and held as a prisoner of war. In 1950 he graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He had a career working for John Deere Company as an engineer, which spanned 1951 - 1982. Lloyd was a Presbyterian, and belonged to the American Legion Post 350, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5083, Sterling-Rock Falls Chapter 410 and Quad Cities Chapter 75 of the National Experimental Aircraft Association. Additionally he was in the Midwest Antique Airplane Club, Blackhawk Aero Squadron and Illowa Sports Fliers. Lloyd loved airplanes.
Lloyd married Lola Gerth Sheese on June 28, 1953 in Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa. She had two children before their marriage, Carl Kane and Warren Sheese.
Ralph Thomas Dotson, known as "Tom" or "Tommy" was born on December 30, 1899 in Wapello, died at age 78 on May 12, 1978 in Seattle, King County, Washington, and was buried in the Wapello Cemetery.
Tom married Marian Louise Callahan, the daughter of Thomas James Callahan and Jessie May Smith, on November 15, 1923. Marian was born on January 31, 1902 in Kirkwood, Warren County, Illinois, died at age 88 on June 28, 1990 (or possibly June 29, 1991) in Seattle, King County, Washington, and was buried in the Wapello Cemetery.
Tom and Marian Dotson had four children: Lucille May, Mabel Ellen, Donna Marian, and George Junior Dotson, who went by the name "Junior."
Lucille May Dotson was born in Louisa County, Iowa. In 1998 she was living in Lockhart, Caldwell County, Texas. Lucille married Wilbur C. Poggemiller, who was known as "Junior." He was born in Henry County, Iowa. Junior and Lucille Poggemiller's four children were Terry Ray, Randy Lee, Danny Lyn, and Kathy Lou.
Terry Ray Poggemiller was born in Burlington, Iowa. He married Linda Wagler, and they had two sons, David and Brian Poggemiller. David Poggemiller is married and has two children, Cody Ray and Austin Roy Poggemiller.
Kathy Lou Poggemiller was born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. She married Steven Moore and their son is Joshua.
Tommy and Marian Dotson's daughter, Mabel Ellen Dotson, was born in Newport. Mabel married James Kelly in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa and they presently live in Mediapolis. They have six children: Thomas Lloyd Kelly, who lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Patty Kelly, who married Ed Stoller. They live in Mediapolis; Pam Kelly married a man named Hoschek, and they live in Burlington; Nancy Kelly, who married Rick Little. The Littles live in Carrollton, Dallas County, Texas; Bill Kelly, whose married to Karen and lives in Coralville, Iowa; and Mike Kelly is married to Mary. They live in Rock Island, Illinois.
Donna Marian Dotson was the daughter of Tommy and Marian Dotson. She first married a man named Jonas; and next married Bruce Rich. Bruce was born on January 25, 1925 in Mitchell, Davison County, South Dakota and died on April 12, 1968 in Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, at age 43. Donna and Bruce had four children: Margaret Louise Rich, who has a son, Robert Bruce Rich; David Bruce Rich, who married Rose Pamela Campbell, and they have two children, Nicholas Ian Rich and Shannon Tich Rich; Robert Frederick Rich; and Carol Marian Rich, who married Thomas Ralph Buchholz and have two sons, Brett Thomas Buchholz and Andrew James Buchholz.
George Junior Dotson was born on August 17, 1927 in Wapello, died on February 8, 1998 in Big Lake, Holt County, Missouri, at age 70, and was buried on February 14, 1998 in National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas. Junior graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1945. He was in the US Air Force from 1945 until 1970, his highest rank being Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for EG&G in the Special Projects Division in Las Vegas, Nevada, until 1988 when he bought the Eagles' Nest Restaurant in Big Lake, Holt County, Missouri, which he operated until 1995. Junior received the Missouri Outstanding Flood Volunteer Award from Governor Mel Carnahan after the floods of 1993.
Junior married Naomi Wilson, the daughter of Andrew Wilson, on March 25, 1951 in Kewanee, Henry County, Illinois. This marriage ended in divorce. Junior next married Betty Lou Atkinson, the daughter of Charley Franklin Atkinson and Opal Ozella Young. Betty was born on December 29, 1929 in Geff, Wayne County, Illinois. They had six children: Tam Glenn Dotson; Timothy Ray Dotson, who was born in Flora, Clay County, Illinois. He married Robin Loring in Big Lake, Holt County, Missouri; Tony Lee Dotson, who is a resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Tracy Jo Dotson, who lives in Grand Prairie, Dallas County, Texas; Todd Kelly Dotson, who lives in Saint Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri; and Trent Dale Dotson, who lives in Seattle, Washington.
Junior and Betty's daughter, Tam Glenn Dotson, was born in Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois. She married Kit Thomas Dobson in Fairfield (Illinois). Kit was born on September 11, 1953 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, and died there at age 39 on June 20, 1993. Kit was buried on November 23, 1993 in Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. They had two children, Kit Thomas Dobson Jr., and Kevin Scott Dobson. Tam Dobson lives in Milwaukee, and is now married to David D. Serkowski.
Georgia Velda Dotson, who used her middle name, "Velda," was born on February 4, 1911 in Wapello and died age at 75 on June 10, 1986 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. Velda married Henry David Mullins. He was born on December 19, 1907 in Flat Gap, Wise County, Virginia and died on September 23, 1958 at age 50 in Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon. They had four children: Mary Lea, Henry Dotson, Richard David, and Diane Velda Mullins.
Mary Lea Mullins married Don Nolan Benslay. Don was born in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. They had six children, these being: Marian Iva Benslay, who married Roger E. Johnson and had one son, Mathew Johnson. Marian next married Terry W. Balko, and they had a child, Radley who was known as "Balko"; David Charles Benslay, who was born in Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon and died there on September 18, 1956; Charles Willard Benslay, who was born in Corvallis, Oregon. Andrew Richard Benslay, who was born on August 25, 1962 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana and died there on August 26, 1962; David Andrew Benslay and his brother, Garrett Nolan Benslay, who were born in Indianapolis.
Richard David Mullins was born on April 11, 1945 in Mundelein, Lake County, Illinois. He married Karen Adele Sparks, and they have four children: Derek Ryan Mullins, Shelly Kristine Mullins, Dane Colby Mullins, and Stacy Liane Mullins. All four children were born in Springfield, Lane County, Oregon.
Diane Velda Mullins was born in Mundelein, Lake County, Illinois. She married Jim Pasta, and they have two children, Corey Tremain Pasta and Julie Velda Pasta.
