The Walkers

The Extended Genealogy of Dennis William Brumm's Maternal Family

The Walker Coat of Arms

Major Divisions:

  • The Walker Tour
The Walker Tour is a collection of old and new photographs which you can browse page by page. There are over 500 photographs of the Walker family and related photos of the places where they have lived spanning the last century and a half.
  • The Alpha Index
The Alpha Index is organized by the person's last name alphabetically (married women by maiden and married names), this is a good starting point to find anyone in particular in the family groups covered within this web site.
  • Paperwork
The Paperwork Section of this web site contains certificates, letters, deeds, maps, wills, bibles, and more; this section is invaluable to the genealogist. There is a fair amount of Civil War era (and some later 19th century) correspondence of several family members.
  • Obituaries, Funeral Remembrances, and Gravestones
This section of the Walker web site concerns itself with the final memories as published in newsprint and photographs of family members' graves. This is also a helpful genealogical resource.
  • Walker Trails
Walker Trails is the story and history of the Walker family from its (Scots?) roots in Ireland through today using facts whenever possible and educated speculation whenever necessary (and telling you which is which). This history is constantly being updated as more information is discovered or uncovered.
  • The Moyers
Similar to Walker Trails, this traces what is known about the Moyers family, the surname of my maternal grandmother, Hattie Mae Moyers.
  • Walker Yarn
Walker Yarn is a section featuring short stories and anecdotes submitted by various family members.
  • The Guest Book
Please feel free to leave a message regarding this web site for others to read! Those of us who have put a lot of effort into bringing you this information hope you enjoy(ed) your stay!
  • Picture Puzzles
Random or organized thoughts I have on some of the "unknown" photographs posted on this web site.
  • Walker Portraits
This section features some playful digital paintings of some of the photographs in the Walker Tour. It is not particularly utile as a genealogical resource, so consider it just for fun. (I do not believe Van Gogh's reputation is in danger of being ursurped by my own!)
  • Walker Audio (circa. 1965)
This section of the Walker site features some old voices of folks long since gone, taken off badly recorded reel-to-reel recordings from my own 12th or 13th family birthday party. It's fairly difficult to understand. The files are in real audio format.
  • Family Trees
Family trees are generated web pages for both my paternal and maternal family groups. Presently they list about 5500 individuals related or with relationships to my own Walker or Brumm families.
    >> The Alpha Surname Index of the Family Tree Section (another good place to start).
  • What's New?
What's New features the most recently added or changed pages.
  • Email
Email the Webmaster, Dennis William Brumm, son of Leota [Walker] Brumm

If you should want to listen to some 20th century music during your visit, click on this link. It will open a new window. The mini selections play from beginning to end of the century, which includes quite a gamut of popular music styles. It's recomennded you have a cable modem or DSL to use this feature if you plan on surfing through other pages at the same time, as it requires a fair amount of resources.

(The Flash 5 plugin from Macromedia is required to listen to this music, and is also needed to thoroughly experience this web site.)

Many people have been very helpful in accumulating the information and data within this web site. Without their help it would not exist. I have tried to thank everyone on the pages with the information they have provided. If there are any oversights, please email me as they are not intentional. Additionally all family members (and family is a certainly meant to be completely inclusive umbrella of anyone whose genealogy is represented here!) are encouraged to make their own additions to this site. We all enjoy everyone's family stories.

An email notification goes out when major changes are finished in the Walker web pages. If you would like to be added to my mailing list for this information, please send me an email saying so!
