Lottie Belle [Kahler/Hawkins] Walker - Short Bio

Lottie Kahler was born in 1886, the daughter of Chris J. Kahler of Baden, Germany, and Maria Emma McKusker of Honey Creek Township in Iowa County, Iowa. Lottie was born in Kansas but grew up in Iowa, and there she met and married William Glen Hawkins in 1908. Lottie and William had two children: Harry; and Harlan Floyd Hawkins. William died April 30, 1945 and in 1964 Lottie married James G. Walker, who was divorced from his first wife for twenty-three years, Millie Walker. Jim and Lottie lived in Marengo, Iowa. After Lottie's death in 1964, Jim Walker returned to Mount Pleasant, Iowa, where he'd lived before their marriage.

Chris J. Kahler was born August 14, 1866 in Baden, Germany and died November 18, 1943 in Marengo, Iowa County, Iowa. He married Maria Emma McKusker, who was born June 06, 1866 in Honey Creek Township, Iowa County, Iowa and died February 26, 1940. Their marriage was November 17, 1891 in Ladora, Iowa County, Iowa. The children of Chris and Maria Kahler were:

Lottie Belle Kahler, who was born October 25, 1886 in Coffeeville, Kansas and died September 19, 1964. Lottied was buried September 22, 1964 in North Summer Cemetery, Ladora, Iowa County, Iowa. Lottie was married to William Glen Hawkins, who was born 1879 in Iowa County, Iowa and died April 30, 1945. They were married September 23, 1908 in the Methodist Parsonage, Ladora, Iowa. Lottie later married James G. Walker, the son of Charles Pearsey and Ruth Ellen [Fox] Walker, who was born January 19, 1887 in Morning Sun, Louisa County, Iowa and died about September 01, 1973 in Mount Pleasant, Henry County, Iowa. Jim and Lottie were married in 1956. They are both buried in the North Summer Cemetery, Ladora, Iowa County, Iowa. Lottie and her first husband, William Glen Hawkins, had two children: Harry Hawkins; and Harlan Floyd Hawkins, who was born November 30, 1919 in Iowa County, Iowa and died October 27, 1985.

Charles Henry Kahler was born 1892 and died in 1969. He married Cannie Pool, who was born in 1893 in Iowa County, Iowa and died in 1990.

Fred John Kahler was born October 12, 1893 in Iowa County, Iowa and died March 21, 1963. August 13, 1913 he married Irene E. Mathis, who was born November 30, 1891 and died August 10, 1967.
Bessie Louise Kahler was born March 16, 1896 in Iowa County, Iowa and died August 6, 1962 in Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. Bessie married Frederick Ferdinand Bahr, who was born February 02, 1886 in Howell, Hand County, South Dakota and died February 03, 1937 in Homestead, Iowa County, Iowa. They were married October 20, 1915.Frank Ernest Kahler was born January 22, 1898 in Iowa County, Iowa and died January 31, 1962.

August Andrew Kahler was born August 29, 1899 in Iowa County, Iowa and died in 1969.

Harry Edward Kahler was born June 14, 1902 in Iowa County, Iowa and died October 07, 1978.

Blanche Irene Kahler was born February 10, 1907 and died April 15, 1975. January 26, 1927, Blanche married Harold M. Smith, who was born June 19, 1907 and died July 20, 1994.
