George Percy Walker - Short Bio

George Walker was born April 20, 1896 in Abingdon, Knox County, Illinois, during the time period his father, Samuel Nathaniel Walker, was working for the railroad, and he died June 24, 1985, at the New London Care Center, New London, Henry County, Iowa. November 1, 1924, he married Verona Dotson, the daughter of Oscar B. Dotson of Pennsylvania, and Edith V. [Baxter] Dotson a native of Iowa. George and Verona had three daughters. They are:

Mazie Ella Walker, who was born November 18, 1925 in Iowa and died September 26, 1995, in Henry County, Iowa (though she lived in Arizona). Mazie was married to Theodore Belles and they had four children. Later they were divorced and Mazie's companion was Jean Leonard. Mazie and Ted's children are: Carol Sue [Belles] Williams, Mark David Belles, Mitchell Belles, and Steven Belles. There are several grandchildren and great grandchildren of Mazie in the extended Belles family.

Vera Walker, who is married to J. W. Virden. Vera and J. W. live in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Jean Louise Walker, married to Arnold Deaneen Brunk. Jean and Arnie had five children: Jeffrey Arnold, Connie Jean (married to Mike Gutting), Shawn Kyle, and Kathleen Deanne (married to Dennis Shoup). There are grand and greatgrandchildren of Jean in the family as well. Jean and Arnie Brunk live in Missouri.
