[Bevans] Umphrey (February 19, 1824, Highland County, Ohio - November 2, 1894, Louisa County, Iowa). In the 1856 census, the family was living in Morning Sun Township, and the family name is listed as "Umphreys." The children of James G. and Nancy F. Umphrey were:

Marietta Umphrey, born in Peoria, Illinois on January 10, 1841 and died February 25, 1900 in Louisa County, Iowa, married David Gregory, born May 12, 1819 in Morgan County, Indiana and died October 25, 1906 in Louisa County, Iowa. They are buried in Elmwood Cemetery, near Morning Sun, Iowa.
