John Russell - Short Bio
John Franklin Russell, the son of John and Sarah [Lovering] Russell, was Flossie [Walker] Russell's husband. He was born September 9, 1882 in Fonda, Pocahontas County, Iowa and died in November 3, 1967. John had a twin brother James, who is said to have died as a child. John's father died (possibly) in 1883 when he was but an infant, and his mother later married a man somewhat younger than herself, Henry Bentz.
John Russell Jr. married Flossie Z. Walker on December 24, 1903 at the home of her father near Newport, Louisa County, Iowa. She and he were married until his death nearly 54 years later. They had no children but did raise a foster child, Byron Ernst. John died November 3, 1967 and was buried November 6. He and Flossie are interred in the Bethel Cemetery, near Newport, Iowa.
