John Franklin ("Buster") Hand - Short Bio

John Franklin Hand ("Buster") was born in Des Moines County, Iowa; his great grandparents were Jehiel and Vashti Annie [Walker] Brewer. Buster was married to Laura Irene Rhum.

Buster Hand lived for a time in the 1940s after his service in World War II in Montana, but he returned to Danville, Iowa, near his birthplace, to live most of his life. He worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant; also for the Iowa-Illinois Telephone Company in New London. A veteran of World War II he was a member and former commander of the New London, Iowa V.F.W., and as well to the Masonic Lodge No. 48 AF & AM, Order of Eastern Star No. 514.

Buster and Irene Hand had two children: Ada Irene [Hand] Blanchard (who has been very helpful with genealogical and family information) and John Henry Hand. There are two grandchildren: Johnathan Blanchard and Kallista Blanchard.
