Samuel Dotson - Short Bio

Sam Dotson was the son of David (October 2, 1818 - December 9, 1898) and Mary [Jackman] Dotson (August 28, 1826 - June 29, 1908); he was the husband of Nellie Brady Dotson (June 26, 1886 - January 26, 1918). Sam was born in 1858 and died in 1931. He and Nellie are buried in the Fairview Cemetery, Wapello Township, Louisa County, Iowa.

Sam Dotson was the carpenter who, in 1903, built Charles Pearsey Walker's farmhouse, the house later known within the family as "the Walker homestead."

Sam's brother, George W. Dotson, married Mary Lucy Moyers, the daughter of George Washington and Rebecca [Pence] Moyers.
