Lloyd Grant Dotson - Short Bio

Lloyd Grant Dotson was the son of Samuel David Dotson (who used his middle name, David) and Evelyn Green; his great grandmother was Mary Lucy [Moyers] Dotson. He had a twin brother, Floyd George Dotson. Lloyd was born on January 20, 1925 in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa, died on May 30, 1996 in Geneseo, Henry County, Illinois and was buried on June 4, 1996 in Wapello Cemetery, Wapello Township, Louisa County, Iowa. Lloyd was in the U. S. Military during World War II; he was captured and held as a prisoner of war in Germany. In 1950 he graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City; he was employed for 31 years as an engineer by the John Deere Company. Lloyd married Lola Gerth Sheese on June 28, 1953 in Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa, and he had two step children via this marriage: Carl Kane and Warren Sheese.
