George Junior Dotson - Short Bio

Junior Dotson, the son of Ralph Thomas Dotson, was the grandson of Mary Lucy Moyers and the grandnephew of her sister, Hattie Mae Moyers. He was born August 17, 1927 in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa, and died February 8, 1998 in Big Lake, Holt County, Missouri. Junior is buried in the National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas.

The family pedigree for Junior, shown above, traces his lineage through the Moyers family. He was also a descendant of David Dotson and Mary Jackman of Pennsylvania.

George Junior graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1945 and followed with a career in the Air Force for 25 years. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the EG & G Special Projects Division in Las Vegas and after and eighteen year career with than firm, moved to Missouri and operated the Eagles Nest Restaurant in Big Lake (Big Holt County).

Junior was married to Naomi Wilson and later to Betty Lou Atkinson. He and Betty had six children: Tam Glenn Dotson, who married Kit Thomas Dobson (September 11, 1953 to June 20, 1993) and had sons Kit Thomas Dobson (Jr.) and Kevin Scott Dobson. Ta also married David D. Serkowski; Timothy Ray Dotson, married to Robin Loring.
