Elzena [Clark] Marshall - Short Bio

Elzena Clark was born in 1842 to Chancy and Esther Clark. Chancy was a native of Holland. March 28, 1870 Elzena married Oliver Spencer Marshall, the son of William and Sarah Marshall. She died in 1926 and was buried in the Old Stone Church Cemetery, Sperry, Des Moines County. Oliver died at age 74, February 1, 1917 in Iowa, and was also buried in Old Stone Church Cemetery.

Their children were:

Ira David Marshall, who was born on October 25, 1872 in Des Moines County, Iowa, died on December 27, 1963 in Des Moines County, Iowa, at age 91, and was buried in Kossuth Cemetery, Des Moines County, Iowa. Ira married Abigail Blanche Larkin, the daughter of James Wilbur Larkin and Sarah Elizabeth Moyers, on December 24, 1894 in Columbus Junction, Louisa County, Iowa. Blanche was born on November 20, 1875 in Columbus Junction, died on November 14, 1947 in Sperry and was buried in Kossuth Cemetery, Des Moines County, Iowa. They had seven children. Mary Ann Marshall was born on February 15, 1874 and died on April 4, 1874.

William Chancey Marshall was born on March 27, 1875 and died on November 30, 1892, at age 17.

Lucy Esther Marshall was born on November 16, 1875 died on March 14, 1970, at age 94, and was buried in Lamoni, Decatur County, Iowa. Lucy married Robert Hutchcroft, on September 6, 1889 in Sperry. He was born on December 14, 1873 in Yarmouth, Des Moines County, Iowa, died on June 4, 1917 in Lamoni at age 43, and was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Decatur County, Iowa.

Sarah May Marshall, known as "May," was born on October 16, 1877 died on September 26, 1964, at age 86, and was buried in Kossuth Cemetery. May married a man named Gesling, who died before 1926.

Clark Spencer Marshall was born on March 27, 1882 died on December 13, 1963, at age 81, and was buried in Loper Cemetery, Franklin Township, Des Moines County, Iowa. Clark married Lona "Lony" Alice Moyers (her relationship to the rest of the Southeast Iowa Moyers family is not yet completely determined). Lona was born on March 24, 1893 in Iowa, died on July 4, 1984, at age 91, and was buried in Loper Cemetery, Franklin Township, Des Moines County, Iowa.

Henry Mitchell Marshall was born on October 3, 1884 and died on June 13, 1886, at age 1.

Lee Milton Marshall was born on June 21, 1890 and died on August 30, 1890.
