Nellie E. [Brady/Allen] Dotson - Short Bio

According to her gravestone, Nellie Brady was born June 26, 1886, and died January 26, 1918. Nellie's mother died when she was young, and her father may have been absent; she was raised by friends. June 22, 1902, she married John F. Allen (born 1872 in Marion County, Indiana, and died between 1908/1910(?)). They had three children: Roy Allen, Samuel G. Allen, and a daughter who, while very young, was caught in a fire and burned to death.

February 3, 1907 Nellie married Sam Dotson. Sam and Nellie had four children: Mary Evelena Dotson, Viola Dotson, Joe Dotson, and Katherine Dotson.

Sam Dotson (March 25, 1858 - 1931), Nellie's second husband, built Charles Pearsey Walker's house in 1903. Sam was a brother of George Workman Dotson (1867 - 1920), who married Mary Lucy Moyers (1873 - 1958).
