Martha E. Beir was born in January 12, 1846 and died in March 20, 1927. She is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Wapello Township, Louisa County, Iowa. Martha's parents were Henry Beir (December 13, 1812 - January 23, 1897) and Elizabeth McCormick (1813 - February 16, 1866). Both parents were natives of of Chester County, Pennsylvania. Martha married Mark Dotson, the son of Bazzel S. (February 8, 1814 - March 25, 1873) and Mary [Davidson] Dotson (July 3, 1817 - May 11, 1896). Mark was born in 1841 and died in 1926. Mark and Martha Dotson had the following children:

Waldo Dotson, whose birth and death dates are unknown. Waldo is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Wapello Township, Louisa County, Iowa.

Gertrude D. Dotson, born in 1868 and died May 11, 1946. Gertrude married William S. Bailey, who was born in 1866 and died in 1953. They are buried in the Wapello Cemetery, Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.

Oscar Brown Dotson, born July 1881 in Pennsylvania and died December 01, 1948. Oscar was the husband of Edith V. Baxter, who was born April 18, 1882 in Northfield, Des Moines County, Iowa and died in June 1967 in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa. Jim and Marian Dean had three daughters: Judith; Sylvia; and Kathleen Deam.

Thurman Dotson, who was born September 22, 1867 and died unknown. Thurman married Minerva Jamison, who was born January 29, 1872 and died unknown. They were married November 19, 1889. Thurman and Minerva had two children: Walter Elsworth Dotson, born July 21, 1890 and died unknown; and Lois Alta Dotson, who was born May 6, 1897.
