Thomas Anderson Baird - Short Bio
Thomas Anderson Baird was born October 27, 1861 in Des Moines County, Iowa. March 29, 1900, he married Cora May Congrove (March 3, 1881 - May 5, 1939) in Wapello, Iowa. They had fourteen children, including Dorothy Mae Baird, who married David Earl Moyers.
Thomas and Cora's other children were:
- Mary Francis Baird, who married Leonard Moore and had a daughter, Jean
- Mildred Fern Baird, who married Donald M. Pogemiller and had 6 children: Dwight, Wilda, Thomas, Robert, James and Jerry.
- Freda Isabelle Baird, who married Maurice M. Wilson and had two children: Mary Beth and Laird.
- Opal Pauline Baird, who married Grant Nichols and had four children: Ronald, Rodney, Samuel, and Dorothy. Opal also married Gilbert Marshall and they had three children: Elwood ("Ode"), who is the husband of Beverly Broeker Marshall, Marcella Ann (Bryant), and Paul Dean Marshall.
- Dwight Willard Baird, who married a woman named Pat and had a son names Thomas Joe Baird.
- Myrtle Lucille Baird, who married Cecil Hamilton and had six children: Cora, Janet, Patsy, Judy, Lonnie, and Jack Hamilton (who was a basketball referee in the 1960s).
- Hallie Alberta Baird, who married William G. Mattson and lived at one point in Eveleth, Minnesota.
- Rex Thomas Baird.
- Wilma Verlee Baird, who married Orval L. Bryant.
- Marjorie G. "Jean" Baird, who married Max Harlan Griffin.

Thomas died December 12, 1929; he is buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun, Iowa. His wife, Cora, died May 5, 1939.
