Dorothy Mae Baird was born January 9, 1899 in Newport, Louisa County, Iowa to Thomas Anderson Baird (October 27, 1861 - December 12, 1929) and Cora May [Congrove] Baird (March 3, 1881 - May 5, 1939). September 20, 1919 Dorothy married David Earl ("Earl") Moyers, the son of Pearl and Jessie [Swan] Moyers. Earl and Dorothy had three children:

• Dorothy Louise Moyers was born and died on September 16, 1923 in Morning Sun, Louisa County, Iowa.
• Phyllis Marie Moyers married William Adrian White and they had four children: Sherilyn Marie, Robert Earl, James Richard, and William Adrian White.
• Wendell Dean Moyers married Margaret Caroline Jones. They had four children: Michael Thomas, Mary Ann, Timothy Edward (who married a woman named Bonnie), and Jeffery John.
