1850 Mortality Schedule. Henry County, Iowa

Those listed included Cyntha E. Tryer, and William S. Lee (possibly a previoulsy unknown son of Jeremiah Lee and Sally Hale).

The sheet had these glowing remarks regarding Henry County, Iowa: 'Remarks: "There has been no particular disease generally prevailing; health good as usual - water pure and good, impregnated with lim (usually called "Limestone water" or "hard water." Soil a rich permeable loam with a clay subsoil but little sands producers. Corn, wheat, oats, grass, potatoes, rye [grow] abundantly. Limestone is the principla rock formation, some of which is very fine quality, bearing poish equal to fine Itlian marble. Some sand stone is found and also flint pebbles and a for boulders are scattered over the prairies. Fruit trees grow luxuriantly and [...]'
