
In 1983 the German Oak Restaurant opened on Market Street in San Francisco. Having been to its namesake in Munich, I was instantly drawn to it. Through the years it became a hangout for a lot of friends and me. It fact, it was probably what defined and guided the 1980s for me more than anything else. The woman here is Anne; she was a waitress for awhile from Berlin (if memory serves me correctly). |
