William H. Fox (Maternal Families)

Charles C. McFox (Maternal Families)

Charles, a son of Nathaniel and Kitturah (McFarland) Fox, apparently has been found and appeared as late as 1880 in the federal census. In that year, a Charles Fox was single, boarding with a farmer along with other persons in Fort Benton, Chouteau County, Montana, and working as a teamster.

Maria Fox (Maternal Families)

Several of the children of Nathaniel and Kitturah Fox have been tracked for a few years, but then may have moved to other locations, or even died. What became of them is unknown. Maria R. Fox, one of the younger children of the ten siblings in the family, was in the 1870 federal census in New London, Iowa, then probably was married. She was mentioned in a later letter of her mother sent to another daughter Elizabeth Sampson, but only by first name.

Mary (Flesher/Walker) Thomas (Paternal Families)

I have a brick wall with my 2nd great grandmother, born Mary Flesher, who was born June 15, 1810 in (West) Virginia. The Flesher/Flescher/Fleisher families have been really thoroughly researched, and somehow no one has come upon who were her parents. She married Joseph Walker in Lewis County, (West) Virginia on February 12, 1834, and a marriage certificate exists for that. They moved to Iowa, he died, and she remarried to Isham Thomas Sr. Her second marriage produced my great grandmother, Helena Vandalia (Thomas) Brumm.

Probably Hal Jamison

This photograph of an unknown young man, apparently standing by the Iowa River on the Walker family farm near Newport, Iowa, very nearly resembles another photograph of a man identified as Hal Jamison, who had gone hunting the day the second photograph was made with John Franklin Russell.
