    • Wapello (IA) -- Funeral services have been set for Sunday April 6 at 2:30 p.m. at the Wapello Methodist church for Nellie Lura Moyers, 84, who died Thursday night at the Wapello Nursing Home.

      Nellie Moyers was born August 25, 1884, in Louisa County to John and Sarah Foster Owens.

      She married B. J. Moyers February 10, 1904, in Louisa county. He preceded her in death August 6, 1961.

      Survivors include one brother, Clyde Owens, of Clearfield, Iowa.

      She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

      Visitation has been set for Saturday evening from 7:30 to 8:30. Burial will be at the Wapello cemetery.

    Nellie Laura (Owens) Moyers
    Nellie married Burton James "Burt" Moyers in 1904 in Wapello, Iowa. She was the youngest of ten children born to John M. Owens and Sarah Sayres Foster (her father was born in Morning Sun, Ohio, and died in Morning Sun, Iowa!). Nellie and Burt Moyers had no children.

    The Obituary of Nellie Lura (Owens) Moyers
    Nellie, the youngest child of John and Sarah Sayres (Foster) Owens, is buried at the Wapello Cemetery in Louisa County, Iowa. She was born August 25, 1884, in Louisa County, and married Burton James "Bert" Moyers (1883-1961) in February 1904 in Wapello, Iowa. They did not have any children of their own, but apparently had a foster child for a while, who was listed on the 1920 federal census with them. Nellie died April 3, 1969, in Wapello, and was buried April 6.
