    • Marguerite Frances Richardson, 87, of Kirksville, Missouri, formerly of rural Edina, Missouri, died Monday, January 12, 2009, at Knox County Nursing Home in Edina.

      Born February 18, 1921, in Memphis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth Shelton Anders of Bible Grove, Missouri. On October 26, 1941, she married Cletus B. Richardson. He died December 13, 2000.

      Mrs. Richardson and her husband operated a farm near Baring, Missouri, and Edina for more than 55 years until retiring in 1999 and moving to Kirksville. She was raised in the Bible Grove area and graduated from Bible Grove High School in 1938.

      She was an active member of the Kenwood Boosters Extension Club for more than 30 years. She was, for many years, a member of Bible Grove Christian Church and Baring Community Church, Baring Country Club, Baring American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and more recently, the Kirksville Senior Circle. She enjoyed designing and sewing clothes for her five daughters, gardening, quilting and crafts and especially playing cards and attending dances with friends.

      Survivors include five daughters, Connie Dyer of West Point, Karen Miller of River Falls, Wisconsin, Diana Roth of Tucson, Arizona, Brenda Sayres of Knox City, Missouri, and Charla Page of Kirksville; nine grandchildren; one stepgrandson; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Bechtel of Burlington; nieces; and nephews.

      Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers, one in infancy.

      The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday before the service at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Kirksville.

      The funeral for Mrs. Richardson will be at noon Friday at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Dan Todd officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens. A lunch will follow the services for family and friends at 1 p.m. in Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Family Center.

      A memorial has been established for the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Research Fund.
