    The Hawk Eye 
    • Barbara Teeter, 78, of Bonaparte, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

      Born May 17, 1927, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Glen and Pearl Burgess Baily. On February 23, 1947, she married E. O. Teeter.

      Mrs. Teeter worked in a beauty shop in Fairfield, operated her own shop in Bonaparte, and assisted her husband in the operation of Bonaparte Lumber Company.

      She was a graduate of Mediapolis High School and a graduate of Burlington Beauty Academy. She was a member of Bonaparte Presbyterian Church. She grew up in Mediapolis, lived in Fairfield and moved to Bonaparte in 1950.

      Survivors include her husband; two sons, Matthew Teeter and Robert Teeter, both of Bonaparte; and eight grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two sisters and two brothers.

      Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family meeting friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

      The funeral for Mrs. Teeter will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bonaparte United Church, with Pastors Larry Wagner and Paul Rekward officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.

      A memorial has been established for Bonaparte United Church.

    • Mediapolis (IA) -- The marriage of Miss Barbara Bailey and Elvert O. Teeter, Jr., was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn R. Bailey, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 23 (1947). The double ring ceremony was performed by Dr. Harry J. Findlay, pastor of the Mediapolis Presbyterian church. Mrs. O. C. Brumm played nuptial music.

      The bride was attended by her sister. Miss Mary Lou Bailey, and Robert Popejoy served his cousin as best man.

      After the reception which followed the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Teeter left for a short wedding trip. Upon their return they, will reside in Fairfield.

      Mrs. Teeter was graduated from Mediapolis high school and the Burlington Beauty Academy. She has been employed in beautician work in Fairfield. Mr. Teeter, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Teeter, Sr., was graduated from Fairfield high school, and is employed as a draughtsman at Lowdens' in Fairfield.
