      Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home in Wapello for Claud D. Miller, Morning Sun farmer who died Monday in Mercy hospital, Burlington. Burial was in Kossuth cemetery.

      Claud DeSota Miller was the son of Sylvester and Margaret Todd Miller and was born at Center Point, Iowa, on January 24, 1882. On January 10, 1908, he was married to Pim E. Harrison (sic: Harris) at Muscatine. Mrs. Miller died September 7, 1962.

      Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Alma Lundeen, Mediapolis; Mrs. Vera Pogemiller, New London; Mrs. Louise Springsteen, Wapello; two sisters, Mrs. Alta Clark, Muscatine; Mrs. Alice Gramel, North Miami, Florida, and one brother, Ross Miller, Mobile Alabama. Other survivors include four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    • GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY -- Mr. and Mrs. Claud Miller of Morning Sun will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, January 10, at their home three miles north of Morning Sun.

      A family dinner will be held at noon, and from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 7 to 9 p.m. there'll be open house.

      Pim E. Harris, daughter of the late J. Newton and Ella Harris of Wapello, was married to Claud Miller, son of the late Sylvester and Margaret Miller of Muscatine, at the Methodist parsonage in Muscatine by Reverend J. W. Potter. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller, brother, and sister-in-law of the bridegroom, were the attendants.

      They established a home in Muscatine, later moving to a farm at Wapello. In 1916 they located on a farm at Mediapolis, leaving there in 1937 when they moved to their present home at Morning Sun.

      They have three daughters, Mrs. Alma Lundeen and. Mrs. Louise Springsteen of Mediapolis, and Mrs. Vera Pogemiller of Pleasant Grove. There are four grandchildren, Kenneth Lundeen, Gerald Pogemiller, Ray Dean and Mary Ann Springsteen, and a great grandson, Ricky Lundeen.
