    • (Personal email from Dale Brumm, 9/2003:) I meant to [but] forgot to give you information on the Abrahamsons. During the 1930's when things were so tough and Eva's husband had died, Julius - known as Abe - for some reason I don't know, Abe left his bridge foreman's job on a railroad to help his sister Eva (who probably would have lost the farm) manage the farm. James was young enough that they might have not made it. Abe raised lots of hogs (not worth much at the time), milked cows, and helped raise crops, mostly corn and wheat. It was ironic that he contacted a disease from the milk which left him in bad health until his death.
