    • Mr. Dwight Pat Baird died January 11 [according to his daughter-in-law it was January 9]. Last rites and burial took place January 13 at Aurora, Illinois.

      Mr. Baird was the son of Thomas and Cora Congrove Baird, and was born at Newport, Iowa, in Louisa county, on February 6, 1901. He attended the Newport school and the Morning Sun high school. He was a paint contractor by occupation.

      Surviving are his wife; a son, Thomas Joe; a foster daughter, Patty; and two grandchildren.

      A brother and eight sisters also survive: William Baird of California; Mrs. Myrtle Hamilton, Mrs. Opal Nichols, Mrs. Max Griffin, Mrs. Wilma Bryant, and Mrs. Freda Wilson of Morning Sun; Mrs. Hallie Matson of Minnesota.; Mrs. Mildred Pogemiller of Wapello; and Mrs. Dorothy Moyers of Burlington.

    • DWIGHT BAIRD DIES IN ILLINOIS

      Dwight W. Baird, 63, of Aurora, Illinois, died Sunday in his home. He was born February 6, 1901, in Newport, Iowa.

      Mr. Baird was a member of the Aurora Lodge 254 A.F. & A.M., the Aurora Area Shrine Club, the Tebala Temple of Rockford, and the Painters Local Union.

      Surviving are his widow, Anna, one son, Thomas J., of Boulder Hill; one daughter, Mrs. John (Patricia) Petty Jr., of Boulder Hill; three grandchildren; eight sisters, Mrs. Maurice Willson, Mrs. Grant Nichols, Mrs. Myrtle Hamilton, Mrs. Max Griffin, and Mrs. Wilma Bryant of Morning Sun, Iowa; Mrs. Dorothy Moyers of Burlington, Iowa; Mrs. Donald Pogemiller of Wapello, Iowa; Mrs. William Mattson of Eveleth, Minnesota, and one brother, Max Baird of California. Two brothers and two sisters are dead.

      Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Healy Chapel. Reverend Briscoe Lamb officiated. Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Park.

      Masonic services in charge of Aurora Lodge 254 were conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel.
