    The Hawk Eye 
    • Nola E. Meyerholz, 94, of Wapello, died Wednesday, November 5, 1997, at Wapello Nursing and Care Center in Wapello.

      Born February 22, 1903, in Eldon, she was the daughter of Oliver Perry and Mary Fitzgerald Dotson. On May 23, 1925, she married Henry S. Meyerholz in Muscatine. He died March 7, 1977.

      Mrs. Meyerholz was a graduate of Wapello High School. She taught in rural Louisa County schools for four years and then worked as an office clerk for the Louisa County Treasurer and later the Clerk of Court. She then worked several years at Tillman Motor Company in Wapello.

      She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Derexa Rebekah Lodge, Delta Alpha Guild, and Chapter 257 of Order of the Eastern Star, where she had served as past Noble Grand, all of Wapello.

      Survivors include one son, Kenneth Meyerholz of Columbus Junction; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one brother and two sisters.

      There will be no visitation. The body of Mrs. Meyerholz has been cremated.

      The memorial for Mrs. Meyerholz will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wapello, with the Reverend Eric Oliver officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Wapello Cemetery.

      Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church, Derexa Rebekah Lodge or the Wapello Community Ambulance Service.

      Wapello (IA), May 25. -- Miss Nola Dotson, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Dotson, and Henry Meyerholz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyerholz, were married at the parsonage of the United Brethren church in Muscatine Saturday, the Ceremony being performed by the Reverend Ira Hawley. The young people were attended by Miss Madalene Dotson, sister of the bride, and John Meyerholz, brother of the bridegroom. The mothers of the young couple also witnessed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Meyerholz are residing in the E. F. Gore cottage on Main street.

      The bride is a graduate of the Wapello high school, a member of the class of 1921. She has been teaching in the rural schools in the Cairo school the past year and will teach there again this fall. Mr. Meyerholz is employed by the Baxter Brothers canning company.

    • Wapello (IA), August 25. -- The seventh annual reunion of the Davison and Dotson families was held at Chautauqua park in Mediapolis Saturday, with 118 present. The event was featured by a picnic dinner at the noon hour, ice cream and watermelons being served. The afternoon was spent with sports and contests.

      During the business session, officers for the coming year were elected as follows: Mrs. George R. Deihl, Wapello, president; I. M. Jamison, Morning Sun, vice president; Mrs. Henry Meyerholz, Wapello, secretary and treasure; committee on grounds and arrangements: W. D. Peters, W. S.
