- Edna Marie Hetrick passed away at 1:35 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at Grand Court surrounded by her daughters.
She was born near Rawson, Ohio, on December 2, 1906, to David and Chloe (Helsel) Huffman.
She graduated from Rawson High School in 1925 and attended Findlay College and Bowling Green State University. She taught school in Benton Ridge and Mt. Cory.
She married T. Gerard Hetrick on July 10, 1930. He died October 26, 1983.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Baker, Columbus and Jane Minard, Findlay. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Thomas (Faye) Kelley, Findlay, Dr. James (Leanne) Kelley, Danville, Illinois, Daniel (Kathe Burkholder) Kelley, Columbus, and Lindsey Minard, Findlay.
[There are also] five great-grandchildren, Brian and Kristin Kelley, Kathryn, Patrick and Andrew Kelley. Four nieces, Marjorie Evans, Patricia Laube, Bonnie Redman and Mary Ellen Reichenbach and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, half sisters, Arleta Rickly, Mary Bowersox, Almira Bowersox, half brother, Willis Huffman, sister, Alice Miller, brothers Grover, Wilbur, Glenn, Harry, Ralph and Floyd Huffman.
Edna was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Findlay since 1930, where she served as Deacon, former President of the Presbyterian Women's Association, former member of the Tuesday Morning Prayer Circle, Reviewers Book Club, Gamma Circle, Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary. Edna was a current member of the Hancock Historical Museum (Charter Member, 1971), Chapter #13 Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, where visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Women's Association. Online condolences can be made via www.coldrencrates.com.
