    • New London (IA) -- Mrs. Florence Summers, 96, New London, died at 11 p.m. Friday, December 4 (1970), at the Danville Community home.

      She was born August 26, 1874, in Henry county, daughter of Henry and Mary Hand Cook.

      November 8, 1893, she married Harry P. Summers here. He died in 1947. Mrs. Summers was a member of First Christian church here.

      Surviving: Son, John, New London; daughter, Mrs. Grace Henessee, Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.

      Funeral: Monday, 10:30 a.m., Elliott chapel here, Reverend Curtis McDonald; Burge cemetery.
