    • Harold Thornburg, 64, of Route 1, Farmington, died at 2:36 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 1991, at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

      Born December 5, 1927, in Lowell, he was the son of Lloyd and Anna Berry Thornburg. He married Dorothy Sly December 18, 1948, in Danville.

      He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had lived in rural Farmington for 16 years and was a building contractor. He was a member of Bonaparte Baptist Church.

      Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Thornburg, Kirkwood, Missouri, Steve Thornburg, Des Moines, and David Thornburg, Spring Valley, Illinois; one daughter, Jane Cole, Bentonsport; four brothers, Myron Thornburg, Farmington, Tommy Thornburg, Oakville, Edward Thornburg, Cantril, and Duane Thornburg, Burlington; and seven grandchildren.

      Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington.

      The service for Mr. Thornburg will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home with Bob Dodds officiating.

      Memorials have been established for pulmonary rehabilitation at the Fort Madison Community Hospital and for the Farmington EMTs. Contributions may be left at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
