    • Elect 3 In W. Burlington

West Burlington (IA) -- With approximately one-fifth of the eligible voters casting ballots, Harmon H. Dochterman and Kendall R. Winfrey won 3-year terms to the school board Monday. Mark Hagerla won a short term.

David T. Lindgren, Jr., and Floyd W. Miller were the other choices on the ballot.

Of an estimated 1,000 eligible voters, 211 voted.

In the 3-way contest for two 3-year terms, Dochterman polled 140 votes, Winfrey, 135, and Lindgren, 120.

Hagerla, long-time board member, piled up a 95 vote majority over Miller, 152 to 57. They were running for the seat left vacant by the resignation of Arthur Burchett.

The 3-year terms opened up when Russell Rawlings decided not to seek re-election and Hagerla chose to run for the short term rather than seek another 3-year term.

Lola Hardy got two write-in votes and Rod Pfeiff, one.
