      Services for Kermit F. Hamilton. 49, of 2216 Lincoln Street, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Central Christian Church in Waterloo with the Reverend Leo Potter officiating.

      Graveside services will be 4 p.m. at Wapello. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Home.

      A memorial fund has been established for Central Christian Church.

      Mr. Hamilton died Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Schoitz hospital of a coronary.

      He was born October 16, 1917, in Louisa County, Iowa, the son of William L. and Lydia Wilson Hamilton. He married Rosella Hallstrom July 31, 1948, in Abbington (sic), Illinois.

      He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an employee of John Deere, and a member of Black Hawk Lodge 65, Chapter Commandry, and American Legion. He was a member of Central Christian Church.

      Survivors include his wife; father of Wapello; four brothers,

      Robert of Burt, Wayne and Donald of Wapello, Richard of San Diego, California; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Gyzen of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Loy Copus (sic) of Warrensburg, Missouri.

      He was preceded by his mother.

    • Wapello (IA) -- Kermit Hamilton, 47, of Cedar Falls, died Monday at the Veteran's hospital in Iowa City following an illness of two years.

      The son of William and Lydia Wilson Hamilton, he was born October 16, 1919, at Toolesboro and attended the Wapello schools.

      He was a member of the Christian church and the Masonic lodge of Cedar Falls. A navy veteran of World War II, he was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. He had been employed at the John Deere plant in Waterloo.

      Survivors include his wife, Rozella; his father; four brothers, Robert of Burt, Iowa, Richard serving in the navy at San Diego, California, Wayne of Morning Sun and Don of Wapello; and two sisters, Alberta Gyzen of Seattle, Washington, and Mary Copas of Warrensburg, Missouri. His mother preceded him in death.

      Funeral services were held today at Cedar Falls with graveside services held at the Wapello cemetery.

    • Kermit Franklin Hamilton, 50, Cedar Falls, died after a two year illness.

      He was the son of William Hamilton of Wapello and the late Lydia Wilson Hamilton, and was born October 16, 1917, at Toolesboro. Mr. Hamilton served in the U. S. Navy for seven years, and was on duty at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked on December 7, 1941.

      He was an employee of John Deere Company. Mr. Hamilton was a member, of the Christian church and of the Masonic lodge.

      Surviving: The father; the widow; brothers Richard Hamilton, USN, San Diego, California; Robert Hamilton, Burt, Iowa, and Donald and Wayne Hamilton, both of Wapello, and sisters Mrs. Alberta Gyzen of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Mary Copas of Warrensburg, Missouri.

      Graveside services in Wapello cemetery at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
