    • Rago (KS) -- Almon Richard "Dick" Coykendall, 86, died July 10, 2009, at the Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita.

      He was born December 6, 1922, at Wellington, Kansas, the son of Revere and Eva Lena Jones Coykendall. A resident of Rago since 1952, previously of Kingman and Wichita, he was a retired farmer and Cessna Aircraft employee.

      He was a member of the Chicaskia Baptist Church, Harper, former board member of Adams High School, and was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

      February 16, 1944, he married Dorotha Van Gieson at Harper. Other survivors include: son, Rod; daughters, Marsha Howell, and Rita Pavlovich; brothers, Bob and Jon; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don, and a sister, Wanda.

      Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Harper Cemetery, Harper, Kansas.

      Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and Chicaskia Baptist Church.
