    Margaret (Brumm) Burgus
    Margaret Burgus, born Margaret Brumm, was the seventh born child to Charles "Carl" and Eva Juliana "Julianna A." Osswald Brumm, and the second born in the United States after they immigrated from Württemberg. She was born May 1857 in Des Moines County, Iowa, and lived to age 88 or 89 in 1946. She and her husband, William A. Burgus, whom she married June 21, 1877, in Kingston, Iowa, lived in Benton Township in Des Moines County their entire married life, or at least through the time of the 1930 federal census. Margaret and William had six children, all of whom lived to be adults, marry, and have children of their own.

    Margaret Burgus was the widow of William A. Burgus when this photograph was taken of her near Sperry, Iowa, in about 1944. She was born May 1857 in Des Moines County, Iowa, and would die several years later, January 11, 1946, in Burlington. She and William were married June 21, 1877, in Kingston (both Kingston and Sperry are near Mediapolis, Iowa). They had six children, four of whom were still living at the time of this picture.

    Margaret Burgus was born in 1857 in Des Moines County, Iowa, and lived her entire life in the county. She married the son of a neighboring farm family, William A. Burgus, whose parents, as Margaret's, were immigrants from Germany.
